1994... This picture shows the partial plate that CILHI claimed belonged to Capt. Brown and a white-gold wedding band. After the service at Arlington, no one claimed either of these items. The Brown family told me that Capt. Brown did not have a partial plate. Also, none of the family members recognized the ring. I also examined the ring and there was no inscription. Yet, as shown below in the Inventory of Artifacts the ring was inscripted(sp) inside. Is this just a error in recording or was it inscribed or did CILHI add this to the list to bolster their case? If it was inscribed, what did it say? Did it indicate that it belonged to a crew member or to someone else? Apparently, the truth may be lost forever.
